about

‘Air’ kicks off with a richly textured electo-beat perfectly paired to pulsating choral harmonies, the result is a haunting, deeply atmospheric accompaniment to the artists poignant lyricism. The song evolves sonically, as the intentionally fragmented, yet pitch perfect vocal discloses a clear message of protest, against an era of human disconnection and destructive self-doubt.

I spent quite some time wallowing in my insecurities and fear of failure, that I almost forgot how much courage it takes in a time like this to be real, to still believe we can inspire each other, to believe we can support and help people around us by simply being a great example. It’s a tremendous responsibility that I can only actively do while I am alive.

Air is vital for our survival, which is something that we’ve started reconsidering during this tough year. With this song, I am trying to talk to someone who has lost focus, their compass or purpose.

lyrics

Can we blow on each other
Some air until we see the planet on fire
The smoke is just a fog but grey only covers
The brain is not asleep
It burns in the eyelids

Ah

Just the time for another
Of our sleepless night on the bridge to the stars
And trying to stop the ink from starving the old page
Then bringing down the moon to wake up a lost kid

Ah

Are we moving together
Or maybe it’s just a tale to feel slightly better
If no one in the end looks after the other
As long as they have all the drugs
To shut down and harness

I’m collecting the courage
To lead and not oppress your heart
When you need to scream louder
Now the shame is hard to see here
Now the shame is hard to see here

Ah

Can we blow on each other
Some air until we see the planet on fire
The smoke is just a fog but grey only covers
The brain is not asleep
It burns in the eyelids
